Undaria Pinnatifida is an edible seaweed, indigenous to the northwest Pacific Ocean and cold temperate coastal regions of Asia. Since 1980 however, Wakame has been spread throughout the globe by international shipping and mariculture.

Treated as a delicacy in many Asian countries, and highly valued for its nutritional properties, Wakame has been harvested for over 3000 years.

Eaten both dried, and fresh, Undaria Pinnatifida contains high levels of calcium, iodine, thiamine, vitamin B12 and Omega-3 fatty acids.
